Kindle Daily Deal: Winter's Tale (33% off)

Today's KDD: Winter's Tale, by Mark Helprin. Normally $2.99, now $1.99!

A best seller when first published in 1983, this book receives universal raves from reviewers for the writing. How have I not heard of this book? One note, there is a comment about the formatting of the Kindle version. I am going to get it, regardless, as Amazon has been quite good about providing updates.

The most helpful Amazon review says, in part:  Told in gorgeous prose throughout, Winter's Tale weaves an insanely magical tapestry of beauty and love that is both death-defying and life-affirming. After you read it, you will feel that it is something you could not have lived without.
33% off, today only!

A bestseller that takes readers on a journey to New York of the Belle Epoque, where Peter Lake attempts to rob a Manhattan mansion only to find the daughter of the house at home. Thus begins the love between the middle-aged Irishman and Beverly Penn, a young girl who is dying. This novel...is a gifted writer's love affair with the language (Newsday).
