Kindle Daily Deal: True Crime (60% off)

Today's KDD:  True Crime (Nathan Heller Novels) by Max Allan Collins
(Reduced 60% from yesterday's price of $4.99 to $1.99)

Product description:
Chicago dazzles with fast action and calculating, cold-blooded meanness as private detective Nate Heller combs the Windy City's North Side looking for John Dillinger. However, things take a turn for the strange when self-aggrandizing G-Man Melvin Purvis shoots down a Dillinger lookalike in front of the Biograph Theater.

Amazon Reviewer Michael Morris says:
This book grabbed me from the beginning and held on to the end. Much better than just well written, it moves seamlessly from one event to another. Although crammed full with descriptions of actual happenings, buildings, people and more, Collins has integrated all of it together to where it is just as exciting to hear about Chicago's Loop district as it was to hear about John Dillinger's "death" outside the Biograph theater.

Don't let the few number of reviews dissuade you.  This is part of a well regarded historical thriller series, winner of the Shamus Award.  Max Allan Collins is also the author of Saving Private Ryan and Road to Perdition, both of which became major motion pictures.

KB Member The Hooded Claw says "I highly recommend Max Allan Collins in general, including this book. One of my favorite authors, though not for the faint of heart."

Text-to-speech, lending and X-Ray enabled. Kindle Owner's Lending Library (Prime).  481 pages.  16 reviews, 10 of them five stars.
