Here are your quick picks of selected Kindle books. All of these are free today!

Tsunami Blue (The Tsunami Blue Series), by Gayle Ann Williams. (Still free?)

This romance with fantasy elements is breaking into the top 100 in Romance today.

"This original romance starts quietly enough, like a calm blue ocean, and gradually builds until you're holding on for dear life, hit with page after page of creative, taut action. You'll be left grinning, grateful for the ride, thanks to original characters, a fantastic story and action that will keep you up late, turning pages. Can't wait to see what Williams has in store next!" -- RT Book Reviews Magazine

Welcome to the near future, where our blue planet has been forever changed by a series of deadly tsunami waves...

With her badass rain boots, her faithful dog, and the ability to predict the monster tsunamis that have reduced the Earth to a series of islands, Kathryn "Blue" O'Malley isn't afraid of much. Cut off from all society, she takes to the airwaves as Tsunami Blue, hoping to save something of humanity as the world around her crumbles. But Blue should be afraid, because her message reaches the wrong ears...

Now she is the target of ruthless pirates known as Runners who want to use her special talents for their own profiteering - as soon as they can find her. Blue's only shot at survival lies with the stranger who washes up nearly naked on her rocky beach. A man who might just be working for Runners himself. Torn between suspicion and attraction, the two will have to navigate a surging tide of danger if they hope to stay alive.

The Marlowe Transmissions #1: Scavenger's War, by Jack Sheppard. (Still free?)

Here's a Sci-Fi novella that introduces you to the Marlowe Transmission series - free today!

"I seem to have been on an end-of-the-world or post-apocalyptic reading kick lately, and this novella was my latest read along those lines - let's just say I'm ready for the sequel, right now: this is a good one. The author does a good job of getting you into the head of the main character, and the futuristic scenes with the author's version of reality are believable with one or two exceptions, and the dialogue is crisp and to the point vs. rambling on for word count sake. With the volume of books I read on a monthly basis, I can forget what I read just yesterday but with this one I found myself thinking about it several hours after the fact with my own Walter Mitty type of moment - what I wish I could do today with some of the predicted technology of the future. The story does end rather abruptly (for me at least), with the next episode with the coming sequel. So, when can I expect it? This one was a little hard to put down." -- Michael Gallagher, Amazon reviewer

When the apocalypse came, it wasn't like anyone expected. There wasn't a nuclear holocaust, or zombies, or World War 3. There was only a well-intentioned experiment to unlock the human mind. The experiment worked, and people got what they wanted: psionic powers. But they soon found out that some things weren't meant to be discovered.

Dez Marlowe has been traveling the Wastes alone for longer than he can remember, fighting wild, blood-thirsty Scavengers and avoiding empath hunters. Like everyone else, he's just trying to survive as best he can in a chaotic and lawless world. Tired of aimless wandering, Dez gains entrance to Detroit, now a walled city ruled by the iron-fisted dictator Terrence McHale. Instead of peace, however, Dez only finds more trouble in the form of a lovely girl who just happens to be Terrence McHale's only daughter. She's run away, and Dez finds himself volunteering to go get her.

Finding her proves to be the easy part.

Forever Mine (The Moreno Brothers), by Elizabeth Reyes. (Still free?)

A "sweet romance about first love," this 335-page book is the first in the Moreno brothers series.

"An uncomplicated, yet moving story of first love, I was easily caught up in the lives of Sarah, Angel and their friends. I found the story entertaining and well-told. The teens all seemed remarkably grounded and well-mannered for the most part. There was very limited adult involvement and supervision. Most adults were barely present and quite peripheral to the story. The author, though, did an excellent job of fleshing out the teenagers. There were numerous teenage characters and each one's personality was believable with realistic, true-to-life motivations. This novel is a complete stand-alone book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series that will be about the commitment phobic pair, Alex and Valerie." -- L. Jenkins, Amazon reviewer

Seventeen-year old Sarah's life is turned upside down when her single mom is sent to jail. She's forced to move, leaving behind everything she's ever known, including her best friend Sydney. Lost and bitter in a new school, her one goal is to save money and move back home. Then she meets Angel Moreno.

Enigmatic but gorgeous, Angel is almost too good to be true. Except for one thing, his archaic belief that guys and girls can never be "just friends". The problem? Sarah's best friend Sydney is not a girl.

With their unexpected romance intensifying to places neither ever experienced, how long can Sarah keep Angel in the dark about the guy waiting for her back home?

Stress-Free Retirement Planning, by Mark J. Orr. (Still free?)

This 90-page booklet is from Mark Orr, a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Investment Advisor.

"This is a great little known investment strategy no portfolio should be without.Marks book explains all the benefits and long term advantage of this strategy in plain and simple English.A must read for any person looking for stable low risk long term gains in a very unstable time that we are all are living in." -- Andy Spiegel, Amazon reviewer

Retirement planning is one of the most talked about subjects in personal finance. As a Certified Financial Planner since 2000, it's always the most frequent and important query that I get from prospective clients all across the USA.

It is the author's belief that until you can answer this question with a firm "YES", you should keep learning more about how to best prepare for a long and prosperous retirement (and then taking the appropriate planning actions to achieve your goal).

Here's the question: Are you 100% certain that the retirement path that you are currently on, is going to lead you to a great, worry-free retirement -- no matter how long you live? Or do you have some doubts?

If you have some doubts about your retirement, as most of my clients initially had before they started working with me, I'm confident that this book can help provide you with a simple and solid road map to a secure retirement.

It can be read in about a half hour or so and it's easy-to-understand and comes with helpful graphics. (The book is really for USA citizens/residents ONLY as I am not familiar with investment/tax laws in other countries).

This book is very different than 97% of the books about planning for retirement. It does NOT offer the same old, tired and failed advice of: work hard, live well below your means, save more money, diversify and buy "five star" mutual funds. It is NOT about buy, hold... and keep praying.

No... this book describes a foundational retirement strategy which provides many other important personal finance benefits - while both saving for retirement and then during retirement.

These benefits include great liquidity and tax and penalty-free access to most of your savings, safety of principle, good potential annual returns without stock, bond, real estate or commodity market risks and a tax-free retirement income stream in the future. You CAN retire with confidence and put this planning on cruise control.

This proven financial strategy offers a safe and proven method for building wealth over time. It is not a get-rich quick scheme nor does it involve taking unreasonable risks. The strategy is completely recession-proof which is very important since an economic recession occurs about every five years.

So depending upon how many years you have until your own retirement date, you'll likely go through a few of them while you are accumulating money to retire on. And once you are retired, you'll likely experience another 5-7 of them while taking income distributions if you live to average life-expectancy in the USA.

The book also shatters five retirement myths, providing some thought-provoking facts which should change the way you've thought about traditional retirement planning and building wealth. This information alone is worth the price of the book, but the simple alternative retirement planning road map and unique strategies are written in later chapters.

If you are looking for a solid financial plan for both today and tomorrow, one that will give you the confidence to stick with it, read this book. It can change your financial life right now and remove many fears or frustrations that you may have about your financial future.
