Spooked, by Tracy Sharp. (Still free?)

Reviewers describe this novel as more of a mystery than a work of horror. Normally $2.99, it's free today!

"Imagine what it would be like to carry someone else's secrets, Lorelei literally takes people's secrets relieving their owners of the "weight" of carrying them. Unfortunately as helpful as it is for others, it puts her in the cross-hairs of some nasty things. When girls start going missing, she can't help herself and decides to look into the mystery... that is when everything starts changing for her. You get hints here and there, but I was surprised by the end. I enjoyed the ride, it was a very well done mystery." -- Yaz, Amazon reviewer

Sixteen year old Lorelei has a special talent. She can steal your deepest, darkest secrets. However, using her power leaves her open to some very nasty creatures from the underworld.

But then a girl from her school disappears. Then another. And another. Lorelei might be able to discover who is abducting the girls from her town if she uses her gift . . .

Can Lorelei stop more girls from being taken? Or will using her gift attract the hell-things that are after her?

Today's bargain book is a satirical black comedy that "rips the lid off of celebrity culture." Available for 99 cents today!

I'll look forward to more from H.J. Hampson and her brilliantly warped view on life as we know it. Superb stuff." -- Wags, Amazon reviewer

"Hampson did a great job at reflecting the correlation between the popular story and her female lead (the decorative pieces within the Love Palace were a nice touch)." -- OzNoir

"After you read this book, you will have second thoughts about the allure of the spotlight." -- K. A. Laity, Amazon reviewer

Sexier than David Beckham and nastier than Joey Barton, life couldn't be much better for professional soccer ace and international megabrand, Beaumont Alexander. Living the life of luxury in his Essex mansion, The Love Palace, with his beautiful pop-star girlfriend and queen of the WAGS, Krystal McQueen, he's every bit as vain as you might expect from a man who has the world at his fingertips as well as his feet.

But a celebrity party kick-starts a chain of events that turns his dream lifestyle into a waking nightmare. It begins with too many drugs and an attractive waitress and leads to an argument with Krystal that doesn't end well. Then a shady cartel steps in and changes his life forever.

Beaumont Alexander is about to discover that substitution is a fate worse than death.

A dark comedy for fans of John Niven (Kill Your Friends), Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Glamorama) and Nick Hornby (Fever Pitch).

What they're saying:
