Blood in the Sand by Kelly Clayton

Blood in the Sand, by Kelly Clayton, is a highly-rated, exciting mystery that will keep you guessing until the end!
Blood In The Sand: Volume 1 (A Jack Le Claire Mystery), by Kelly Clayton
256 pages, with a 4.7-star rating from 3 reviews

"A great plot that unfolds in the idyllic island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Clayton has a very refreshing writing style and apart from putting in a number of well placed nuances and unexpected plot twists that kept me guessing until the end, also provided an insight into the daily life of the wealthy in Jersey. This was done while also making it clear there is another less privileged side to life there. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, couldn't put it down and wish it were longer. " -- Amazon Reviewer

Be careful what you wish for, it just might come true.

DCI Jack Le Claire has left London, the Metropolitan Police and, for the most part, his recent troubles far behind him. Returning home to Jersey in the Channel Islands, and bored of run-of-the-mill cases, Le Claire cannot help but miss his days at the Met and secretly longs for something more challenging. A chance file review throws up more than anyone could have expected.

˃˃˃ How far would you go to claim your birth-right?

When family tragedy strikes, New York lawyer Grace Howard travels to Jersey. However, all is not as it first appears in this island community and before long Grace is caught up in a murder enquiry. In her time of greatest need Grace doesn’t know who she can trust.

˃˃˃ The island’s wealthy inhabitants hide their secrets well. Everyone has something to hide, don’t they?

Running from his own past, and struggling to prove he is up to the job, Le Claire battles against a web of lies and half-truths as he tries to stop an elusive killer.

Does Jersey + inheritance = murder? Find out in Blood In The Sand.

Meet the Author

I was born in Scotland but have lived in the Channel Island of Jersey for most of my life. An avid reader, I've been writing for some time but decided to get serious a few years back. My first novel, Blood In The Sand, was published in 2015. I'm currently working on a second book featuring DCI Jack Le Claire.

I work in finance and love what I do but adore the escapism of writing, of crafting stories and characters and putting them into and, hopefully, getting them out of peril.

I live with my husband and three cats in a home overlooking the sea.

"I like the realism of Katie and Spencer's relationship, and the attention to detail - such as the pet names they call each other. The twists in Redwood Violet are well thought-out and intriguing. Although stimulating due to the topic of Katie's dreams, somehow the story also provides a comforting vibe; possibly due to the warmth of the characters. I'm looking forward to the next one!"  -- Amazon Reviewer

"This is a great murder mystery series which I've enjoyed tremendously. It's well written and packed with surprises. This story is fast moving and reveals the difficulties for women investigators. Cousins Lalla and Pearlie Bains figure buying into partnership with a local P.I. will fast-track them into their own business.

But their nifty plan starts circling the drain when his house blows up−with him in it. Seems their former partner was been stealing clients and using blackmail to pad his retirement fund. Now the girls are left with an empty bank account and a killer who thinks they know everything.

It would help if their only witness could remember faces, and their partner's greedy ex-wives weren't hounding them for money, and the suspects weren't all pillars of Wishbone society−but all they need is a miracle or two.

Meet the Author

I LOVE hearing from Readers! E-mail: rp@rpdahlke.com

I sort of fell into the job of running a crop-dusting business when my dad decided he'd rather go on a cruise than take another season of lazy pilots, missing flaggers, testy farmers and horrific hours. After two years at the helm, I handed him back the keys and fled to a city without any of the above. And no, I was never a crop-duster.

My Lalla Bains series is about a tall, blond and beautiful ex-model turned crop-duster who, to quote Lalla Bains, has "been married so many times they oughta revoke my license." Lalla is no Danielle Steele character & she's not afraid of chipping her manicure. Scratch that, the girl doesn't have time for a manicure what with herding a bunch of recalcitrant pilots and juggling work orders just to keep her father's flagging business alive.Note: Beginning with A Dead Red Alibi, Lalla and her family will reside in South East Arizona where she will divide her time between a fledgling P.I. business with cousin, Pearlie Bains, and volunteering as a team member with Cochise County Search and Rescue.

A Dead Red Cadillac
A Dead Red Heart
A Dead Red Oleander
A Dead Red Alibi
A Dead Red Miracle

My romantic sailing Mystery Trilogy start with A Dangerous Harbor, and continues with Hurricane Hole. Both now up on Kindle and if you liked my Lalla Bains series, I know you'll love this book: More romance, more suspense, an exotic location with nastier bad guys and a bald parrot!
