Educational Kindle Fire app: Geography Champion

Kindle Fire owners: we've heard your requests for word-oriented games and educational apps.

Here's one that's perfect for middle- and high-schoolers - and an enjoyable challenge for adults, too! Geography Champion is a bargain at just 99 cents.

The game tackles world geography from various angles - flag identification, country shapes, capital cities, and various match-up questions (such as "match the map to the flag"). There are 8 rounds in all.

The pace is fast, and the game play is smooth and well designed. The game developers were thoughtful enough to include both a time-pressured mode ("Champion") and a more leisurely alternative ("Relax Mode"). We'd love to also see a U.S. version of this game that goes to a state-by-state level.

I have two high-schoolers that recently took World Geography, and are taking World History this year. Their reactions after playing with Geography Champion: "There are a lot of countries to go through! But before long you start to remember them as you level up." and "I like the challenge of the points and penalties in this game, plus the speed bonus!".

We've tested Geography Champion successfully on Kindle Fire (non-HD) as well as Kindle Fire HD. Try it out today and let us know how you enjoy it!
