Author profile: L.K. Rigel

Next up in our Author Profile series, we're pleased to introduce you to L.K. Rigel, author of  "post-apocapunk dystopia!"

When L.K. Rigel was five years old, her parents divorced. Within two years she was living the life of a shared-custody child, the school year with one set of parents and summers with the other. Both families moved often for work, and almost every switch back was to a new house in a new city.

But every new place had a library, and the first thing L.K. did after the move was to get a library card. Books were her stability - familiar authors and familiar worlds no matter where she lived.

A devourer of books, L.K. became a storyteller herself, writing songs, poems, short stories and novels. USA Today best-selling author Anne Frasier (Theresa Weir) has said that one of L.K. many strength's is world-building. L.K. credits the instability of her childhood - where world-building was a survival skill.

Whether writing about post-apocapunk dystopia, the wyrd and fae of an alternative Cornwall, a traditional historical family saga, or a contemporary romantic ghost story, L.K. creates worlds you can escape to and live in for a while with characters you cheer for - and against.
