Come Home to Me (Second Chances Time Travel Romance Series Book 1), by Peggy L Henderson

"Another winner! I loved the author's Yellowstone Park series so much I read them twice and couldn't wait for this "second chance time travel" romance to come out. The wait was so worth it! So many twists and turns, heart stopping events, thrills and fears . . . hard to really write a review without giving away important plots of the story! Suffice it to say, I could not recommend this book any more highly." -- Amazon reviewer

Jake Owens is tired of life on his parents’ Montana ranch, catering to city folk who want a taste of old-fashioned country living. He enjoys life in the fast lane, with fast cars and even faster women. When he falls in with the wrong crowd and is accused of murder, a stranger’s bizarre offer at a second chance might be his only hope to clear his name.

Rachel Parker is highly devoted to her family. A tragedy prompts a daring move to the Oregon Territory for a fresh start in a new land. After meeting the wagon train’s scout, the meaning of a fresh start may be more than she ever imagined.

Jake can’t believe he’s been sent back in time to act as scout for a wagon train headed for Oregon, and given the added burden of keeping one emigrant woman safe during the journey. He and Rachel are confused by their attraction to each other. Jake’s ill-mannered, unconventional ways are overshadowed only by his notorious reputation. Rachel’s traditional values and quiet, responsible character are the complete opposite of what attracts Jake to a woman. When their forbidden attraction turns to love, what will happen at the end of the trail?

I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book someday. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero.

I'm married to my high school sweetheart, and together with our two sons, we make our home in Southern California. Our family also includes a Labrador Retriever, a welsh pony, a miniature horse, three cats, four bearded dragons, and a flock of laying hens. Almost every summer since my husband and I graduated from high school, we spend two weeks camping in Yellowstone National Park.

Four years ago, I began writing a story that, for whatever reason, was stuck in my head for almost a year. I have been an avid romance reader for a long time, and the idea took hold to - why not? - write my own! It has been a long and difficult journey and learning experience from my first sentence to a completed, and hopefully polished, manuscript.

The story, titled Yellowstone Heart Song, is set in the Rocky Mountain region which today encompasses Yellowstone National Park. It takes place decades before the area was even known to white men, a time just after Lewis and Clark, before the mountain man era was in full swing.

The story has turned into the Yellowstone Romance Series, with five books and a novella published.

My newest venture is a time travel romance series, which I am calling Second Chances. The first title, Come Home to Me, released on October 17, 2012. I am also working on a historical romance trilogy, called the Teton Romance Trilogy. Book 1, Teton Sunrise, was published in February, 2013.

I want to send a special thank you to all my readers. Thank you for taking the time to write reviews and to email me, leave messages on my blog, and find me on facebook. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally. My email address can be found at the back of each of my books, and I will always make the time to respond. Thank you for making my journey as a writer such an awesome experience.
