A Home for Wayward Husbands, by Johnee Cherry. (Still 0.99?)

Southern small-town literature at its sweet and dysfunctional best.

"It’s funny at times and oh-so-deep on so many levels! I’ve read it twice now, and each time it gets better and better. I love the characters! In fact, I think one of the characters may be me! Or who I see myself as anyway! When you read it, you might see yourself in there as well, or for sure, you will recognize someone you know, someone you wish you didn't know, someone you love or maybe even someone you hate. It’s all about small town America, and a very dysfunctional group of people, coping with life in the best way they each know how. It could be your own family! You will laugh out loud at some of the descriptions, but there is also a lot of drama, with some very controversial issues as well. Very well written." -- Amazon reviewer

Johnee Cherry brings to life the crazy and fabulous characters of a small East Texas town in A Home for Wayward Husbands.

Beau Smith is a tormented bad boy. He's rich, gorgeous, and full of potential but is hampered by his controlling father, Leon, and demented mother, Suzanna. There's no hiding for the Smith family, who owns most of the town and lives in the center of the Atlanta, Texas universe putting them in the center of gossip and innuendo.

When Beau falls head-over-heals in love with the strawberry blond-bomb, Bitzy Jeter, the daughter of a low-life chicken farmer, Louie Jeter, his troubles keep mounting. Bitzy is a sweet gullible girl without a bad bone in her body, who couldn't care less about the attitudes of prominent citizens. Bitzy loves everyone and is willing to forgive and love again, but she learns that some people are not worth forgiving.

Beau makes one final heart-wrenching mistake, and in the delirious aftermath of the accident he abandons his family when they need him the most.

Beau's unexpected return sets into motion long buried emotions and memories and the family must deal with feelings they hoped to forget. Faced with the challenge of having Beau back, Bitzy and Stormie, their only daughter, must deal with him on a different level. Bitzy ends up with a house-full of other women's husbands who she wants to continue to love, but she's going to have to make some hard choices.

Add Dot to the scene, Bitzy's sister, who is smack in the middle of all of Atlanta's gossipy circles and who loves the intrigue of having Beau show up out of the blue. Dot knows her sister well and offers jaded advice on how to deal with the hapless men taking up space in her home and heart.

And of course, there's Wesley, Bitzy's best-guy friend, and Opal Anne, one of her few friends from high school, dragging their problems through Bitzy's teapot like used up tea leaves. Wes comes face-to-face with Beau Smith, the one person he hoped he would never see again, and he makes a move that changes everyone's idea of who Wes is.

Can Bitzy revive the most talked about and hottest romance in Atlanta's small-town history? Does she want to?

If you're in the mood for a fresh, funny tale about small town romance, buried secrets and unforgettable characters then A Home for Wayward Husbands is sure to satisfy!

He Loves Me, He Loves You Not, by Mychea. (Still free?)

"I first stumbled upon Author Mychea with her books" Coveted" and " Vengeance" and fell in love with her writing style seemingly instantly. Her ability to bring drama to life with words is uncanny. Such is the case with "He Loves me, He Loves you not". It focuses on Shia, a young woman who hasn't had her fair share of luck in the love department. She finally falls in love with Demetrius and feels she has finally gotten her happily ever after. But when her sister goes missing, secrets are forced to surface...secrets that threaten to shake Shia's whole foundation as well as question those around her. "He Loves Me, He Loves You Not" was a fast paced read from beginning to end. The action and drama was nonstop. The characters were believable. There was action, drama, and suspense throughout the book. Just when you think you have everything figured out, you get the shock you never saw coming. There were a few editing issues but nothing that took away from the storyline. 5 stars!" -- Amazon reviewer

It's been years since their parents were murdered. Twin sisters Shia and Leigh are trying to readjust to life, while caring for their baby sister Remi. With the exception of Leigh s angry, dramatic mood swings every now and then, everything seems to be going great. That is until Demetri; the mysterious stranger enters their midst, and falls right in the path of the newly single Shia. After dating Trent for so long, she is looking for a man to treat her like a queen, and Demetri is heaven sent...until inexplicable things begin to happen. When one of her sisters goes missing, and was last seen with Trent and Demetri, Shia suddenly realizes no one is who they appear to be. The seemingly normal world she and her sisters recreated is destroyed. Shia begins to realize that her parents' past deeds are coming back to haunt them all and no one can be trusted. It is unclear to Shia which man truly has her best interest - and safety - at heart. Staring at the wilted flower she calls life, she is slowly pulling back the layers to try to understand if He loves me, he loves you not...

Playing the Part (Entangled Brazen), by Robin Covington. (Still 0.99?)

Price temporarily reduced to 99 cents!

"Robin's latest is a delectable addition to Entangled's best-selling Brazen line.I adored the humor -- Mick and Piper share some slick and charming dialogue -- as well as the freshness of Mick's biracial background and how the author does not allow that detail to dominate the story. And have I mentioned Robin Covington knows her way around a sex scene? Have a cold drink at hand when you check out Playing the Part, 'cause it's a scorcher. - Happy Ever After, USAToday

"PLAYING THE PART blew me away with it's great characters, fast pace, and enough heat to warrant more than a few cold showers. Mick and Piper complement each other perfectly and make the reader root for them from Page 1. Robin's writing is tight and engaging and she nailed her characters. Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2013 and a perfect representation of the Entangled Brazen line. I highly recommend it." - NYT and USAToday Bestselling Author, Gina L. Maxwell

"Amazingly perfect! I'm not even sure if there are accurate words to describe how much I love this book! It made me laugh, cry, scream and swoon. Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that will either bind them together or tear them apart.

Keep Me Still

Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.

Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls, but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.
