"A thrilling ride! 'Reapers Run' follows Sergeant Jill "Reaper" Repeth following her contracting the Eden Plague virus - a so-called disease that affects humans at the molecular level and brings with it superhuman healing, improved senses, and insatiable food cravings... following her escape from a cruise ship full of other "sickos", a government ruse to round up anyone and everyone they see as a threat, Jill embarks on a quest to find her family - but winds up finding redemption and hope in the unlikeliest of places. Can't recommend this highly enough - if you're a fan of action-packed books with a military twist, give this a go - highly recommended." -- Amazon reviewer

When US Marine Sergeant Jill Repeth's war injuries begin to heal at an amazing rate, she thinks it's a medical miracle. But the breakthrough that begins to restore her legs is exactly what the government desperately wants to hide - by any means necessary. Hunted, she must cross a darkening America wracked by strife, to try to find a family who may already be dead.

The Eden Plague (Plague Wars), by David VanDyke. (Still 0.99?)

If you buy (or already have) the printed book, the ebook is free, through Amazon Matchbook.

"Cover-to-cover action! this story is as good as it gets in its genre. The combat scenes, the weaponry detail, the Special Forces camaraderie and warrior insight... it's an excellently told and authentically compelling story. David Van Dyke does this kind of story as well as anybody out there (I am jealous). His science fiction concepts are fresh and neatly interwoven into a patchwork of real human drama. There is a romantic slant to the tale, as well, that adds interest. The plot, the characters, and the non-stop action are just superb." -- Amazon reviewer

The Summer Set, by Jay Province. (Still 0.99?)

Save $3 today on this Kindle Countdown Deal!

"The Summer Set is like the Hardy Boys meet evil native spirits--with baseball and shamans. It's set in a magical time when there were no cellphones or computers, and you could still buy an ice cream cone for 20 cents: 1956. ay Province's attention to the detail of the era is like a trip through a time machine, and he's aware of the darker elements of the time. The teens hang out at the Atomic Shake. Mr. Miller has a new Bel Air with Powerglide transmission. Mike goes to the barbershop and gets a flattop with fenders. And what's with that kid from Roswell, New Mexico, who has a mean physics-defying ball? Yikes, there's even smoking--and it's not just the bad guys. So retro. From the first chapter, when we meet Karen flying over Williamsport, a mysterious woman who's trying to get in the closed FBI office and later is pulled by Mike from the river with a snake bite, it's clear this isn't your father's Hardy Boys." -- Amazon reviewer

Fourteen year-old Peter 'Chumbucket' Miller and his best friend Mike DeSorcier begin the summer on a mission to capture a baseball championship but soon uncover a group of extra-dimensional beings infiltrating their league. During their breathless escape, the boys discover two things: they are in mountains of trouble and they need help. Assistance (and more trouble) arrives in the form of two daring and mystifying girls - the unusual Karen Croft and the alluring Jo Munro. Together, the teens must solve the mystery of the Noqumiut before a fateful August lunar eclipse.

Unlikely sources aid their efforts: an Eskimo shaman, a magic stone carving of a lively seal, a ferociously loyal dog, and an opponent from Roswell, New Mexico whose talents (and origins) may literally be out of this world.

The Summer Set is a humorous, intense, action-packed story about friends, enemies and the pursuit of winning it all. The novel is for all story lovers ages twelve and up.

Beyond Betrayal (Clarissa Abbot Thriller), by L.T. Ryan. (Still 0.99?)

"My love for the Jack Noble books was what kept me watching for any new releases from Ryan. So when he came out with the Affliction Z books - not my kind of book - I was hesitant. But darn it, I find myself waiting for the 3rd book to come out of that series. Then along comes Mitch Tanner. I wanted to yell "Jack, please" but ended up loving that book as well. The writing was different yet Ryan showed a skill at keeping us guessing until the end. When he pulled Clarissa out the of Jack Noble books to write a novel writing her as the main character, he did not disappoint. I spent most of the night guessing how the book would end. Not sure how Mr. Ryan does it but all of his books are a "must read". I recommend them all. Start from the beginning. It's worth the ride." -- Amazon reviewer

Recalled from her assignment in London, England, Clarissa Abbot is handed her most difficult assignment yet. To observe and isolate a potential threat to national security that resides inside the White House. Facing a conspiracy that threatens to rock Washington, D.C. to its core, Clarissa is pitted against an overwhelming force that won’t stop until she’s dead.
