Shaffer went in search of widows who could relate to her thinking, actions and observations on becoming a widow.
She found plenty of like-minded women who realized they hadn't lost their sanity at all. Widowhood was their new normal and they had every right to act a little crazy.
Shaffer was a Chicago newspaper journalist for 15 years, has written travel articles for Huffington Post, Gadling Travel Site and AOL Travel News among others. She has written the popular blog; newsy1blog.com for the past four years and her latest blog http://www.widowslikeme.com spawned her first published e-article, Widows Like Me.
She is a freelance writer that is based in Chicago and travels the southwest and Mexico in an RV, only stopping to eat, drink, take pictures and of course, write.
