Bargain Kindle books! (Tuesday July 23)

Him, by Carey Heywood. (Still 0.99?)

"This was a fabulous novel, and the past and present mixed really well and the pacing was amazing - the past/present scenes didn't drag on for a long time making you bored. I love when a story has a big reveal that keeps you reading, but hate when it drags out unnecessarily long and this one was perfectly paced. I also liked that the sex and intimacy wasn't a HUGE deal in this book as it is in many other Kindle reads. It was more about the characters and what was going on with them. All I have to say in closing is that you will love this book and I am off to buy her other ones!" -- Amazon reviewer

Sarah Miller hasn’t been home in seven years. She thought she could stay away forever. If it wasn’t for her big brother's wedding, that is. Part of her even feels silly for staying away this long. It's not like anyone even knew what happened. Well, except for him.

That guy. The one she compared all others to. The one who set the bar so high no other guy after him could even compete. The one who made her feel like anything was possible. The one she thought she would never be good enough for. The one she spent the last seven years trying to forget.

All she needs to do is make it through the next week without running into him.

A Fall of Silver (The Redemption Series), by Amy Corwin. (Still 0.99?)

"Lyrically written! I love a story told with lovely language and A Fall of Silver is certainly that. I delighted in watching Quicksilver's transformation through Ms. Corwin's prose. Every detail of the story is so lovingly laid out, you can feel what these characters mean to the author. And that makes reading a joy." -- Amazon reviewer

Their secrets are about to catch up with them.

Allison "Quicksilver" Bankes has a simple philosophy: the only good vampire is a dead vampire. After a brutal encounter with the undead, Quicksilver wants revenge and she's about to kill a vampire to save a young woman's life when Kethan Hilliard confronts her. Kethan promises peace for both vampires and humans in exchange for an end to the slaughter, but Quicksilver knows that's not going to happen.

Someone is killing both humans and vampires, and sweet words aren't going to end the nightmare.

As events spiral out of control, terrible secrets from Quicksilver's past awaken, and she's forced to turn to Kethan to survive. Kethan and Quicksilver may have opposing goals concerning the undead, but neither can deny the attraction growing between them, a passion that threatens everything they hold dear. However, Quicksilver is determined not to make the same mistake twice and with Kethan's help, she intends to silence the horror, forever.

The 22nd Secret, by Randal Lanser. (Still 2.99?)

"This book would make a really good movie because it's one of those stories where you know that people know more than what is going on, but you don't know which version they know. Do they know the whole truth, the real truth or the truth that the government wants them to know? This story will keep you guessing at every twist and turn. It was a really great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it." -- Amazon reviewer

25 Perfect Days, by Mark Tullius. (Still 0.99?)

"Don't let the title fool you: the 25 PERFECT DAYS of the title are perfectly disturbing, a walk through a possible future as bleak as George Orwell's 1984. Scary, realistic, and satisfying." -- Amazon reviewer

Will you follow The Way or be crushed by the Controllers?
A totalitarian state doesn't just happen overnight. It's a slow, dangerous slide. 25 Perfect Days chronicles the path into a hellish future of food shortages, contaminated water, sweeping incarceration, an ultra-radical religion, and the extreme measures taken to reduce the population. Through twenty-five interlinked stories, each written from a different character's point of view, 25 Perfect Days captures the sacrifice, courage, and love needed to survive and eventually overcome this dystopian nightmare.

"Absolutely *loved* this book. One of the better adult dystopian tales I've read in quite a long time...The writing is smooth and precise, a keen edged knife that, at times, cuts right to the heart of a character and gives the reader a visceral shock." - L. Spier

"This is a cautionary tale, warning readers of the dangers we face in allowing any government to curtail personal freedoms. Things in 25 PERFECT DAYS fall apart little by little until "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" no longer have any meaning. This is definitely a frightening and disturbing look at what can happen when greed and power run amuck." - Kacunnin

"From pacing to word choice to character development to layering I loved everything about the writing style. Smooth reading with vivid descriptions from start to finish." - Para
