"This book is total entertainment. I love Violet, Doc and all the Deadwood gang. I'm hooked on Violet's growing romance with Doc and all the other rich and quirky relationships in Violet's circle. I really miss them when I finish and it's so good I finished it too darn fast. The story flowed so well I found myself swinging from laugh out loud funny (the séance is hysterical) to delicious suspense in the blink of an eye as events moved through some really unique twists." -- Amazon reviewer

The Dark Monk: A Hangman's Daughter Tale (US Edition), by Oliver Pötzsch. (Still $0.99?)
"Brilliantly crafted," this second book in the Hangman's Daughter series has over 200 five-star reviews... and is just 99 cents today!
"The story is a maze of mystery and intrigue with a dash of romance. I adore Magdalena, Jakob's daughter. She is a passionate, intelligent woman who I admire for her strength of character. Her lover Simon, the town doctor, is certainly a more interesting character because of her presence in his life. She gives him depth, and he gives her an ounce of respectability, which is virtually impossible for a woman in her social position in that time period. Being the daughter of the hangman was certainly a fact that made people fear her, and gave her little options in life. Her relationship with Simon really mixes things up a bit in this story, especially when the beautiful Benedikta Koppmeyer arrives in town." -- Amazon reviewer

Murder, Money & Marzipan (A Lexy Baker Bakery Cozy Mystery), by Leighann Dobbs. (Still $2.99?)
This delightful cozy mystery is part of the Lexy Baker Bakery series. A fun, short read and available today for $2.99.
"A stadium full of bakers all dying to get their hands on the $100,000 grand prize in a bakery competition. Sound like a good motive for murder? You bet it is. And when the competition's most-hated judge turns up dead, all evidence points to Lexy Baker. Problem is, Lexy is in Las Vegas. And she doesn't really want Jack (her hunky detective boyfriend back home) to know that she's involved in yet another murder. Meanwhile, the gorgeous detective handling the murder seems to have a mysterious past with Jack... and it's driving Lexy crazy. Fortunately, Lexy has a grandmother who solves murders using an iPad and a little amateur sleuthing. Between Lexy's cake getting sabotaged, a detective who's fingering Lexy as the prime suspect, and an uncomfortably close encounter with the real killer, Lexy needs all the help she can get. Sound intriguing? It is! This is a fun book, great for a bit of light reading in the afternoon." -- Amazon reviewer

Murder on Potrero Hill (A Peyton Brooks' Mystery), by M.L. Hamilton. (Still $2.99?)
A full length, highly-rated mystery for $2.99, from the acclaimed author of Ravensong.
" The author did a phenomenal job capturing Jake's emotion. Part of the reason she succeeds in evoking the response is her proficient flashbacks into Jake and Zoe's life. You believe him when he says he loves her. His pain is palpable especially as heartrending secrets are revealed. As the noose tightens, you can't help but feel sorry for him. The detectives, Peyton and Marco are likable and believable. They competently work through the case to uncover the truth. Though they have their minds made up, they are never careless in their efforts. I appreciated that the violence was not gratuitous or gory. Additionally, the language was appropriate to the circumstances but was not offensive. Overall this was a quick, enjoyable read. I look forward to exploring Peyton's character further in book #2." -- Amazon reviewer

Bangkok Burn (Bangkok Series), by Simon Royle. (Still $4.99?)
Part of Simon Royle's Bangkok series, this riveting mystery is set in the exotic streets of Thailand's capitol city. Over 30 five-star reviews. $4.99.
"A red-hot thriller set against the exotic backdrop of Bangkok, this is a blistering read from start to finish. The hero, or maybe anti-hero, is Chance, a farang (foreigner) and an orphan who was raised by a Bangkok mafia family. Though he wants out of a life of crime to keep the love of his life, Pim, that proves difficult when he is variously double-crossed, blown up, shot at and dropped off cliffs. Meanwhile, a war is taking place in the streets of Bangkok as political cliques fire bullets and rockets at each other. The real culture and current affairs of the country are every bit as vital to this novel as the characters, and as vibrant and challenging as the plot. Written by a man who clearly has an intimate knowledge of Bangkok, from its elite down to its underbelly, you will wonder how much of Chance's story is true. You'll also sweat every heart-stopping moment with him, every heart-breaking revelation, every shock and wound incurred by his attempts to save his family and discover the astonishing truth." -- Amazon reviewer
