"Smoothly written, as professional work of fiction as I have ever read. Kindle offerings at this price are usually only 10-20 thousand words at most. This novel is a whopper, 120,000 words. And unlike , say, some tome by King, there is no padding. This adventure moves quickly and is lean and lithe when it comes to verbiage. I felt the influence of a great number of pulp and SF writers of the past as I read this. Especially H.P. Lovecraft. What better place to start a novel than in a spooky curio shop with exotic trinkets , then a crumbling mansion on the Hudson River? An eerie mausoleum under the full moon? A backyard in suburban Cincinnati? A lot of the action was very pulpish (in a good way), and also to some extent in the "modern noir" of thrillers such as Pendelton's Executioner books. It flowed easily in real time . I also liked the ambiguity of the characters' "goodness". Kept me guessing the whole time. If you like Edward Lee , H P Lovecraft, Wrath James White or Jack Ketcham, you should give this one a try." -- Amazon reviewer

Dexter Radcliff’s elderly great-aunt owns an ancient Native American artifact called the Talking Horn that allows one to speak with the dead, and when Dexter’s carelessness causes the Horn to be stolen he is plunged into a nightmarish struggle with the Lost Society, a vast narco-terrorist network of occult assassins led by a dead sorcerer. But Dexter’s problems have just begun—soon he will have to contend with parasitic brain-eating worms, sinister Longevitals who can live a very long time thanks to a hermetic treatment, a “Twisted Zoo” containing among its horrific exhibits Dexter’s murderous atavistic twin, “spectreholes” that open spectral doorways to other worlds, and a hellish monstrosity older than mankind that is preparing to return to earth and return earth to primordial chaos.

Warning: this grisly novel is not for the timid. The first chapter entices the readers like a bloody fishing lure, and each following chapter drags them deeper and deeper into a swirling maelstrom of horror.
