The magic system is intriguing and has some unique implications and consequences. Combat scenes are generally well described especially the first few neither to much nor to little detail in my opinion. Dialogue is well done and typically no confusion on who is talking at any one point. Character descriptions are good and give your imagination enough to work with to paint a picture."

"This an interesting history of the construction of the Panama Canal. This was one of the largest construction projects every undertaken by mankind. The book details the early history of the many dreams and attempts at construction of this water shortcut from the Atlantic to the Pacific as well as the many problems involved in such a massive undertaking. However, what is also interesting was the problems with malaria-carrying mosquitos (and the resultant deaths, though this area is better covered in other readings) but other intriging political wranglings by politicians in the U.S., Panama and France. I thought this book was very informative and worth reading."
