Hexes and X's (Z&C Mysteries, #3), by Zoey Kane. (Still free?)

"What's not to like? This book has it all. With hexes and witches, trap-doors and treasure in a wonderful Victorian mansion with a storm rageing and crashing outside. Nothing is left out. Did I mention treasure? Yes, a real live treasure hunt punctuated with mayhem and murder. All this with a huge dose of wacky characters to keep each other in check. What a hoot." -- Amazon reviewer

An invitation to a dead pirate's two-hundred-year-old mansion. A decrepit finger bone tied to a map of hidden passages, supposedly leading to bloody pearls. A legal fight over who owns the estate, and its hidden treasure--the tenacious town council, the mischievous Matilda Dread, or the kooky Coven House Witches' And booby-traps galore.

What are Zoey and her daughter Claire getting themselves into now?

The Divorced Not Dead Workshop, by CeCe Osgood. (Still 0.99?)

Save $3 on the Countdown Deal!

"Delightful! Reads like a movie! The story is not an off-the-wall, far-fetched comedy. There’s realism in a lot of it, but told with humor. The characters come across as flawed people, but real. They weren’t so wacky that they seemed like a fantasized version of a person. I liked their interactions and their quarrels (“you daft nutter”) and their flirtations. The plot kept me guessing at times, which I liked, as well as how the author merged the romance and the workshop and how the workshop made a difference in Dorsey. Being divorced, I thought the “workshop” was full of interesting tidbits and I might even use a couple of the dating tips. For me, the book read as smooth as silk and was like a movie in my mind!" -- Amazon reviewer

THE DIVORCED NOT DEAD WORKSHOP, a romantic comedy with a whopping side dish of chick lit, is a hilarious and touching look at re-entering the dating world after divorce.

Meet Dorsey Bing. She's been divorced for five years and was recently dumped by her mega-hot Brit boyfriend, Theo. Smart, funny and a wee bit angsty, Dorsey brainstorms about a dating workshop for divorced men. Too bad she’s an idea person with zero follow-through.

That all changes when her best friend Pilar, a feisty go-getter, opts to set up the workshop with herself in charge and Dorsey as her "go-fer.” But do things ever really work out as planned. No. No, they don’t.

A startling mishap, rebellious workshop attendees and the arrival of handsome but wily Finn Woodall soon send things topsy-turvy for Dorsey. Even more trouble arises with the unexpected re-appearance of Theo. Will Dorsey want him back or is she smitten with Finn who could possibly be a back-stabbing rat bastard' And with everything that's happened in the workshop will Dorsey face her biggest challenge to win the love, and life, she's always desired?

Promise You Won't Tell?, by John Locke. (Still free?)

"Not since Desmond Cory's Dead Man Falling have I read a story that combines so well humor with clever twists and turns in the plot. It's quite ingenious. While his novels about former CIA assassin "Donovan Creed" have captivated most of us, his novels about female detective "Dani Ripper" are just as good. This one must be up there with my previous John Locke favorite "Saving Rachel". As Locke has admitted himself, his novels may not be works of art, but they are fun and a great read. For me, that is more than enough." -- Amazon reviewer

“I think something might have happened to me Saturday night. Something bad.”

Private Investigator Dani Ripper’s client list is nuttier than the Looney Tunes conga line, but she diligently solves one crazy case after another, waiting for a game-changer.

Enter Riley Freeman, 17-year-old honor student.

Saturday afternoon Riley quietly placed a little strawberry sticker on her private area and pretended it was a tattoo. She didn’t tell anyone about it. That night she went to a slumber party that featured drinking and boys. Riley fell asleep, woke up the next day with no reason to think anything happened…

…Until Monday, at school, when a classmate called her Strawberry.

Coincidence or crime? Dani agrees to investigate. And the roller coaster ride begins.
