Predictably Irrational, Revised and Expanded Edition: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions, by Dan Ariely.

I've read this; it's really good and a fascinating look at why we make the choices we do.

How do we think about money?
What caused bankers to lose sight of the economy?
What caused individuals to take on mortgages that were not within their means?
What irrational forces guided our decisions?
And how can we recover from an economic crisis?
In this revised and expanded edition of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller Predictably Irrational, Duke University's behavioral economist Dan Ariely explores the hidden forces that shape our decisions, including some of the causes responsible for the current economic crisis. Bringing a much-needed dose of sophisticated psychological study to the realm of public policy, Ariely offers his own insights into the irrationalities of everyday life, the decisions that led us to the financial meltdown of 2008, and the general ways we get ourselves into trouble.

Blending common experiences and clever experiments with groundbreaking analysis, Ariely demonstrates how expectations, emotions, social norms, and other invisible, seemingly illogical forces skew our reasoning abilities. As he explains, our reliance on standard economic theory to design personal, national, and global policies may, in fact, be dangerous. The mistakes that we make as individuals and institutions are not random, and they can aggregate in the market—with devastating results. In light of our current economic crisis, the consequences of these systematic and predictable mistakes have never been clearer.

Packed with new studies and thought-provoking responses to readers' questions and comments, this revised and expanded edition of Predictably Irrational will change the way we interact with the world—from the small decisions we make in our own lives to the individual and collective choices that shape our economy.

Kindle Fire Free App of the Day: Traktor Digger & Bonus App!

Today's Free App of the Day is Traktor Digger
Originally $0.99

Not a very well reviewed physics based game where you dig out things with a tractor. At this point, the ratings are perfectly symmetrical, with the most reviews at three stars.  So we'll have a bonus app today.  Although I've played it, and it's not bad.  I think some will really like it.

4 of 12 reviews are four stars and above.

So we have a bonus pick: Mini Pets.

This is another animal shelter game, but I think this one would be more satisfying for most kids and adults; it's more like the other games I've seen of this type and less like "the Sims." Well reviewed. It does allow in-app purchases.  Some of the stuff is kind of weird, like sending a Tiger and a Siamese cat on a "date."  I'll let you know how that turns out!  195 of 241 reviews are four stars and above.

These apps are compatible with the original Fire and with my Fire HD 8.9" 4G. To tell if an app works for your Fire HD or other Android device registered to your Amazon account, click on the above link and look on the right side of the web page.  Amazon will tell you if it will work with your registered device.

Have fun!

Author profile: Vicki Hopkins, writer of historical fiction and romance

In today's author profile, we feature writer Vicki Hopkins, whose works cross several genres. Read on!

Vicki Hopkins believes it’s never too late to pursue your dreams when it comes to penning a book. She always possessed the drive to write and became an award winner in fifth grade for a poem entitled, “The Day.” In her early teenage years, she probably became the first to dabble in fan fiction with her best friend, as then penned stories about the Beatles in the 1960s.

However, life would prove a challenge in the years ahead. Periodically, Vicki would write articles and eventually embarked on her first attempt to write a book. Her unpublished writing ended up in a box that she moved from state to state--Michigan, Virginia, Oregon, California, and back again to Oregon.

Finally, after much prodding and encouragement from friends to follow her dreams, at 58 years old she dusted off the box and began to write. After taking an online course on how to write fiction, she felt prepared to at least give it a try. Four years later, she has released five fiction novels. Three are historical fiction, with romantic elements, and one is a true historical romance. Recently, she crossed genres into adult contemporary romance releasing her fifth book, Conflicting Hearts, under the pen name of J .D. Burrows.

The old adage, “it’s never too late,” became a reality last week when Vicki was named as a finalist in the 9th Annual Best Book Awards Sponsored by USA Book News for her latest historical romance, Dark Persuasion. It won in the category Fiction: Romance, being chosen from 1,500 entries in all categories from mainstream and independent publishers.

Vicki lives in the rainy Pacific Northwest with her cat who refuses to let her sleep in every morning. She enjoys researching her English ancestry, traveling to England, and plotting obstacles to overcome for her imaginary characters in her next book.

"Disenchanted," by Robert Kroese

Do you like your Sci-Fi / Fantasy served with a healthy portion of irony and humor? Then take a heaping helping of this highly-rated book from Robert Kroese!

Fantastic story! This is my first review of any kind and i have to say that this author is far and above many others with respect to fantasy literature. The story line is quite entertaining and i never seem to lose track of what's going on at any time. The protagonist never seems to catch a break but he does seem to be trying to make amends with his past in a thuggish sort of way all while learning a little humility. Great read and worth the wait for each installment. I have to say that there hasn't been anything from this author that I have not enjoyed reading especially his Mercury series. -- Natalie White, Amazon reviewer

Disenchanted, by Robert Kroese

Robert Kroese’s Disenchanted comes fully loaded with the wit and charm of The Princess Bride and a sense of humor all its own. This clever take on the traditional fantasy includes footnotes that keep the narrator honest, a cast of characters that resembles something out of the Island of Misfit Toys, and a fantastic setting filled with words and names that test pronunciation skills.
Being assassinated doesn't have many upsides, so when King Boric is felled by a traitor, the king comforts himself with the knowledge that, like all great warriors, he will spend eternity carousing in the Hall of Avandoor. There's just one problem: to claim his heavenly reward, Boric must release the enchanted sword of Brakslaagt.
Now, to avoid being cursed to walk the land of Dis forever as an undead wraith, he must hunt down the mysterious Lord Brand who gave him the sword twenty years ago. So begins Boric's extraordinary journey across the Six Kingdoms of Dis, a walking corpse who wants nothing more than to be disenchanted and left in peace. Along the way he's advised by the Witch of Twyllic, mocked by the threfelings of New Threfelton, burned, shot at, and nearly blown to bits. But nothing can prepare him for coming face-to-face with Lord Brand. For in that moment, Boric discovers that nothing—in life, in death, or in between—is exactly what it seems.

Meet the Author

Robert Kroese's sense of irony was honed growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan - home of the Amway Corporation and the Gerald R. Ford Museum, and the first city in the United States to fluoridate its water supply.

In second grade, he wrote his first novel, the saga of Captain Bill and his spaceship Thee Eagle. This turned out to be the high point of his academic career. After barely graduating from Calvin College in 1992 with a philosophy degree, he was fired from a variety of jobs before moving to California, where he stumbled into software development. As this job required neither punctuality nor a sense of direction, he excelled at it.

In 2009, he called upon his extensive knowledge of useless information and love of explosions to write his first novel, Mercury Falls. Since then, he has written two sequels, Mercury Rises (2011) and Mercury Rests (2012).

Need to Breathe, by Tara Staley. (Still $0.99?)

Here's an engrossing tale of the South, with elements of paranormal. Highly-rated, it's our bargain book today at $0.99!

"A good Southern story is set in a place as realistic and vivid as the characters are colorful and meaningful, yet it's the author's voice that gives Southern fiction its distinctive flavor. From this trinity of setting, character and voice comes Tara Staley's debut novel, NEED TO BREATHE. The American South has produced some of the world's finest writers and NEED TO BREATHE secures Tara Staley's place among them." -- Carolyn Bass, Amazon reviewer

"Need to Breathe will captivate readers from the very first page. Tara Staley delivers a gripping story of one young girl's struggle to survive, and the spirit who loves her in this stunning debut novel NEED TO BREATHE. In a story reminiscent of The Lovely Bones, NEED TO BREATHE will take your breath away from the opening chapter, readers will hang on to the end rooting for Claire's chance at happiness, and Millie's final reconciliation with her own lost motherhood." -- Kevan Lyon, Amazon reviewer

It’s Groundhog Day, 1975, and Claire Harper survives a botched abortion. All Millie Rose can do at first is stare into the blinding lights of the NICU and hear doctors demanding answers about the burns on Claire’s body. Nurses panic, they cry and shout “she’s bradying down!” because, Lord help them, they’ve never seen anything like this.

Neither has Millie. Although she died in childbirth in 1922, she still has a purpose. Her afterlife is filled with missions lasting anywhere from ten minutes to ten years, and she views her newest assignment as a second chance at motherhood. But she's got to act fast because Claire's lungs are weak, her heart rate keeps tanking, and her pH levels are low. The hospital has never had a 26-weeker pull through.

Millie also tries to counsel Claire’s troubled parents, Mick and Manda, through the emotional fallout. They see marriage as the best “band-aid,” but Claire’s birth always haunts them, to the point Manda becomes a chain-smoking pill-popper who paints her house completely white. Mick becomes a reclusive binge-eater who sleeps in the barn. And Claire comes-of-age wondering about it all-- why she’s so sick, why she has scars on her skin, and what’s the secret her parents are keeping?

Finally, there’s a good reason why Millie nudges Claire to find true love years later with the geeky guy down the street. True, Charlie Vance may build his own batteries and dissect dead animals, but his love for Claire drives his decision to attend medical school so he can take care of her the rest of her life.

NEED TO BREATHE takes an unthinkable crisis and turns it into a gripping story filled with sensitivity, hope, beauty…even humor. From the opening chapter, readers will root for Claire’s chance at happiness, for the Harpers to heal, and for Millie’s reconciliation with her own lost motherhood.

“I truly think Staley’s descriptions are brilliant—the setting, the characters and the dialogue moves this novel very quickly. The language is so amazing. She could write about peas and I would read it. NEED TO BREATHE is anything but predictable. A pleasure to read!” –Catherine DiCairano, award-winning author of “An Original Melody” and BEHIND THE TREES.

The Pattern, by jt kalnay. (Still free?)

A "spellbinding" technothriller, that explores the worst of our computer-age fears. Free today!

"The Pattern begins with an intriguing, frightening premise. Airplanes keep crashing killing many people. What if you were to stumble upon the true cause of the plane's demise, but realize that knowing the cause brings you no closer to fixing the problem? That is essentially the hook of this technothriller. I was impressed with author Kalnay's masterful grasp of techno-jargon. This is a book that is a perfect reflection of the digital era we live in. Heaven help us all." -- Dwight Okita, Amazon reviewer

Has one programming error killed hundreds of people in airplane crashes? A handful of west coast computer geeks know the answer. After reading The Pattern, you will too. Follow auto-pilot programmer Craig Walsh and his beautiful engineer girlfriend Stacey "Jack" Horner as they create, and then confront, a malicious computer virus that seems destined to destroy air travel as we know it...

Rise of the Retics (Rosehaven: the Hidden City), by T.J. Lantz. (Still free?)

"Rise of the Retics is a really fun read, bringing in many fantasy elements one would expect in this genre, but it also weaves in real-world for a unique dymanic. The characters are super imaginative and well-developed, and there are even some chartacter cameos from some of TJ Lantz's other short stories. The world of Rosehaven really comes to life in this entertaining novel that people of any age can enjoy! Can't wait to read more in this series!" -- Heather Schubert, Amazon reviewer

For almost a thousand years humanity has been making a concerted effort to eradicate the world's "retics", an eclectic collection of non-human, intelligent species. Recently, those efforts have been strengthened and far more successful than ever, though the Council of Rosehaven, the "retics" hidden sanctuary city, cannot figure out why.

No one realizes the danger of this this more than Tyranna Wolfskin, a young girl ripped from her boring, everyday life in the middle of the night by a vicious group of "retic" hunters. Thrust into a struggle for her own survival, Tyranna must find a way to accept what she is and learn to understand a world she never knew existed.

Mother of Wolves, by Zoe Brooks. (Still free?)

"A novel that both entertains and explores the difficulties a strong woman encounters in life, "Mother of Wolves" is a well written, character driven novel that draws the reader into a world that is little known. Lupa is certainly a character I would want to sit and talk with." -- Karen Doering, Amazon Top 1000 Reviewer

When the King of the Roads is betrayed by his uncle to his murderers, his wife Lupa finds herself alone in a man's world of tribal politics and war.

Everyone underestimates Lupa, if they consider her at all. They are making a mistake. Lupa has made a promise to her husband to avenge his death and Lupa is a woman of her word. Her quest takes her away from the tents of her travelling people to the town of the Others, where her husband's eyeless head watches as she takes her first revenge.

Now on the run, through the marshes and rich farmland of the great river, Lupa hunts and is hunted by her husband's murderers. On the estuary islands her sons and their protector are just one step ahead of the killers. But revenge is not simple and Lupa must face a choice, one which will have great consequences for her people. For this is more than a revenge story, it is the tale of the rise of a woman leader and the price she pays for that rise. It is the story of a travelling people, persecuted by settlers and their armies, and the woman who leads them at the time of their greatest peril.

167 pages, with a 5-star rating from 9 reviews.

Permanent Damage, by Michael Montoure. (Still free?)

"PERMANENT DAMAGE is a collection of ten short stories that will send a chill down your spine. Mr. Montoure's writing makes darkness lurk behind the everyday and the benign: a speed-dating event, the neighbourhood safe house, a comic book collection, a leaking ceiling. Montoure's incisive writing style makes reading the expected endings enjoyable nonetheless.  If you enjoy short stories and speculative fiction, then PERMANENT DAMAGE will make a quick, enjoyable, and thought-provoking read." -- J.C. Martin, Amazon reviewer

You were warned.

You’ve seen the harm inflicted in Michael Montoure’s SLICES, and you saw the countdown begin in COUNTING FROM TEN. But you’re still not safe. There’s more you need to learn before the damage sets in.

Uncover the secret a dead woman’s children will have to deal with in “Upstairs, Locked.” Don’t place your trust in the neighbor who lives in the “Safe House,” the man who lives upstairs in “The Leak,” or in the lovers you meet in “The Devil You Know.”

Bring back the dead in “The Lessons Learned and the Damage Done” — but be careful who’s watching. Build the walls that keep the monsters out in “Melt the Bullet, Blunt the Knife” — but don’t get trapped inside.

Avoid the obsessions that make people become “Heroes and Villains.” Free yourself from the past that haunts you in “New Year, Old Ghosts,” the past that keeps leading you back to “The Old Apartment.” And if you know how it all ends, find someone who will be with you until very last moment, until “A Sudden Loss of Cabin Pressure.”

Ten more unsettling stories to be read in the dark. Read them tonight.

Before the damage becomes permanent …

“One talented little hell-monkey.” — Chuck Wendig, author of Blackbirds and Double Dead

“Slices was, in my opinion, probably the best collection of short, sharp shocks I’ve read since Joe Hill’s 20th Century Ghosts […] In Slices, Michael Montoure showed us that he was going places. Permanent Damage proves that he’s more or less arrived. If you’re the sort of person who likes fumbling through the surrounding, sudden darkness that threatens to overtake us at any moment with little more than a flickering candle to show you the way, then this book should be placed in your hand as soon as possible.” — Schuler Books Weblog

Back at Oxford for her reunion, Harriet Vane, Lord Peter’s beloved, finds herself in mortal danger

Since she graduated from Oxford’s Shrewsbury College, Harriet Vane has found fame by writing novels about ingenious murders. She also won infamy when she was accused of committing a murder herself. It took a timely intervention from the debonair Lord Peter Wimsey to save her from the gallows, and since then she has devoted her spare time to resisting his attempts to marry her. Putting aside her lingering shame from the trial, Harriet returns to Oxford for her college reunion with her head held high—only to find that her life is in danger once again.

The first poison-pen letter calls her a “dirty murderess,” and the ones that follow are no kinder. As the threats become more frightening, she calls on Lord Peter for help. Among the dons of Oxford lurks a killer, but it will take more than a superior education to match Lord Peter and the daring Harriet.

Pure (The Pure Trilogy), by Julianna Baggott.

We know you are here, our brothers and sisters . . .

Pressia barely remembers the Detonations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost-how the world went from amusement parks, movie theaters, birthday parties, fathers and mothers . . . to ash and dust, scars, permanent burns, and fused, damaged bodies. And now, at an age when everyone is required to turn themselves over to the militia to either be trained as a soldier or, if they are too damaged and weak, to be used as live targets, Pressia can no longer pretend to be small. Pressia is on the run.

Burn a Pure and Breathe the Ash . . .

There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and lonely. Different. He thinks about loss-maybe just because his family is broken; his father is emotionally distant; his brother killed himself; and his mother never made it inside their shelter. Or maybe it's his claustrophobia: his feeling that this Dome has become a swaddling of intensely rigid order. So when a slipped phrase suggests his mother might still be alive, Partridge risks his life to leave the Dome to find her.

When Pressia meets Partridge, their worlds shatter all over again.

Kindle Fire Free App of the Day: Hidden Garden and a Bonus App!

Today's Free App of the Day is Hidden Garden
Originally $0.99

This is not a classic hidden object game. Instead, on each of 25 levels, you have to find 20 or so (sometimes less, sometimes more) butterflies, hearts or ladybugs. Each level contains only one type of object to find. It's a beautiful app, with lovely music (you get to choose one of four musical themes) but somewhat monotous.

My comments: if you tap too fast, even if you are tapping on objects, you get a time out. You get only one hint per level, and it doesn't appear until there is only one object left. You gain no benefit from NOT using the hint; you can't save hints from one level to another, so I ended up just using the hint for the last object more often than not. There's no time element, which is kind of zen, but on the other hand an option to do a timed element would be a nice option.

I'd say, since it's free, it's worth doing, but I got about halfway through in a relatively short time. It's a kind of play once and be done game.

103 of 195 reviews are four stars and above.

So we have a bonus pick: Bowling Paradise FREE.

This is a bowling game. Unlike the bowling game offered as a FAOTD earlier, this is actually bowling. You get one of three locales for free. The different locales have slightly different attributes for the ball. In "space," for example, the ball has a tendency to go up in the air as it goes down the alley. It was slightly easier to get strikes there. 238 of 373 reviews are four stars and above.

These apps are compatible with the original Fire and with my Fire HD 8.9" 4G. Unleashed (A Sydney Rye Novel, # 1), by Emily Kimelman

A KINDLE TOP 100 BESTSELLER
#1 AMAZON KINDLE BESTSELLER IN "HARD BOILED"

The Sydney Rye series of mysteries features a strong female protagonist and her rescue dog, Blue.

When the series begins Sydney Rye is named Joy Humbolt. She does not like people telling her what to do, so it comes as no surprise that she was just fired from her last job. When she buys Charlene Miller's dog-walking business on Manhattan's exclusive upper east side, it seems like the perfect fit: Quiet environment, minimal contact with people.

But then one of her clients turns up dead, and Charlene disappears. Rumors say Charlene was having an affair with the victim--and of course, everyone assumes Joy must know where she is. Joy begins to look into the crime, first out of curiosity then out of anger when there is another murder and threats start to come her way.

When police detective Mulberry is assigned to the case, Joy finds a kindred spirit--cynical and none-too-fond of the human race. As they dig deep into the secrets of Manhattan's elite, they not only get closer to the killer but also to a point of no return. One last murder sends Joy Humbolt hurtling over the edge. Her only chance of survival is to become Sydney Rye.

UNLEASHED is the first book in Emily Kimelman's best selling Sydney Rye series of dark murder mysteries. DEATH IN THE DARK (A Sydney Rye Novella, #2) and INSATIABLE (A Sydney Rye Novel, #3) are both available in the Kindle Store.

"Sami," by H.S. St.Ours - from the Water Worlds series

A Sci-Fi coming-of-age adventure, this series appeals to the Young Adult crowd as well as we older readers. Highly rated, it's our spotlight book at $2.99!

"After reading Young Moon, I expected only the best from the second book in the series. I was not disappointed in the least! Sami is a smart, engaging adventure in a post-apocalyptic near-future. Sami's tenacity, bravery, intelligence and creativity make for a wonderful female heroine in a compelling world. Sami's ability to balance the darkness in the world with her own light may well move all of humanity toward a new beginning. I couldn't put this down, a must read for all young women, young men, and adults alike! I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the series! -- Brenna Bear, Amazon reviewer

Sami (Water Worlds), by H.S. St.Ours

Fifteen-year-old Sami Walker wasn’t born in the tunnels. She's traveled all over, even as far as the Northern caves beyond Eastport. Only nobodies went farther than that. Story was, there were towns beyond the Dustbowl, but most folk thought that was just stories.

It’s been almost a century since the sky fell and the world broke apart in a day, and still the people spent their whole lives underground, either in the Five Tunnels, or in the caves, shielded by living stone.

Sami’s mom and dad are long since dead, and her friends, Sef and Glyn, vanished without a trace, over a year ago, or were chased from the tunnel by the Judge. Now her dearest pal, Simma, was leaving, too, to live under the water in tunnel Tee Two, with her mom and her mom’s new boyfriend.

She used to feel safe in the tunnels. Used to feel at home. But now, she wasn’t so sure. There was something in the air. Her only friend left was her dog Scout, a tunnel stray who adopted her over a year ago. And old Miz Murphy, of course, who lived in the hovel below her, deep down in Far Northend, the oldest dig in Tee Four.

For decades, crowds of people have waved through the tunnels, following the green arrows, pushing up and out Eastport, heading North. They heard the air was better there, and most didn’t like the tunnels one bit anyway.

But now, nobodies and someones alike were disappearing, and voices came to her in the dark, warning her of a great danger to come.

In an adventure of courage and hope, Sami seeks answers and uncovers a mystery that spans worlds.

"Sami" is Book 2 in the Water Worlds young adult science fiction adventure series.

The Annihilation of Foreverland, by Tony Bertauski. (Still free?)

A group of children find themselves in a world of alternate reality. Over 70 four- and five-star reviews for this Sci-Fi novel. Download it free today!

"Bertauski has painted a very interesting picture. All kinds of comparisons floated through my mind as I read this story: Neverland, Pleasure Island, The Matrix, that island from "Lord of the Flies"... However, Foreverland does have a flavor of its own. I enjoyed Danny's journey and although the beginning of the book was disorienting, I like the direction it took. I wasn't prepared for the way the plot was structured, but I think that's why I liked it. Once I had my bearings, I raced through most of the book. To me, it was quite obvious that something hinky was going on as soon as it became apparent that Danny wasn't the only guy with a hole in his forehead and a suspicious lump in his back. Things pulled together wonderfully. I was glad that while I guessed right, it was more complicated than I thought, and the results of the actions taken in the book made for an interesting and satisfying conclusion." -- The Kindle Book Review

A Stranger's Touch (Passionate Strangers), by Roxy Boroughs. (Still free?)

"A Stranger's Touch, by debut author Roxy Boroughs, is an emotionally-gripping, fast-paced story that had me on the edge of my seat from the first page. I love Boroughs' wit, her compelling voice, and how effortlessly she weaves intrigue and romantic elements together. A Stranger's Touch is a must read, a story that will not only leave you breathless with anticipation, but remind you what truly matters most in life." -- Pamela Yaye, Amazon reviewer

Winner of the Writer's Voice Award.

Single mom, MAGGIE HOLMES, is a by-the-book Calgary cop, until her seven-year-old asthmatic son, Davie, is kidnapped. Frantically grasping at any hope, she turns to STAFFORD WEBB, an FBI psychic who retrieves information through his sense of touch.

Stafford is reluctant. Unbeknownst to Maggie, he helped with the Tommy Hutchinson kidnapping case six months earlier, but didn’t get to the child in time. Haunted by images of the boy, Stafford retreats inward and focuses on his other private obsession: finding the killer, James Ryan Morley—the man who also murdered Stafford’s older sister when she was sixteen.

But the desperation in Maggie’s eyes is too great for Stafford to ignore. Following his visions, they set off on a journey through the rugged terrain of the Northwest Territories—and along the jagged line between faith and reason.

61,000-word Romantic Suspense. Adult language, some violence, sexual situations.

“A gripping story from a fresh voice in romantic suspense.” Nora Wilson - Best-selling Amazon Author.

PRAISE FOR "A STRANGER'S TOUCH"

"In A Stranger's Touch, Roxy Boroughs takes the reader on a desperate hunt from Calgary, Alberta to the northern fringes of civilization—so far north that wild bison are a commonplace hazard on the highway. Maggie Holmes is searingly believable as a police officer forced into the position of victim when her seven-year-old son is abducted from his schoolyard. Stafford Webb is intriguing and sympathetic as a former FBI agent willing to use his secret talents to help Maggie locate her son—even if it means great pain and sacrifice to himself. Boroughs' plot seamlessly weaves basic police work and paranormal input into a fast-paced story of suspense and redemption."

Rua, by Miranda Kavi. (Still free?)

"I enjoyed that Ms. Kavi brought me a paranormal read with a unique flavor. I won't go into details, but the supernatural touch here is unexpected and different from anything I have encountered. I liked that she brought me something original. This book features a character that absolutely wriggled right in and stole my heart. Tink jumps right in during the first chapters and easily wins over not only Celeste but the reader. He is fun, charming, an awesome best friend and there isn't anything about him not to like. I thoroughly enjoyed his character. He manages to always steal the scene. Not to mention he has a few tricks up his sleeve!" -- Heidi, Amazon reviewer
