Today's Free App of the Day is Universal Breathing - Pranayama
Originally $6.99
OK, this is a meditation aid (I think). Or maybe just something to help people who have trouble breathing. I kind of agree with the reviewer who says:
"Spoiler alert! You inhale first. Then, and only then, do you exhale. I cannot stress the importance of breathing in this exact order enough." But, hey, it's free and it could be an aid to meditation. I guess. It's essentially a screen that tells you when to inhale and exhale, with different rates of breathing and a goal to breathe more slowly.

"The Warrior," by Ty Patterson
Readers of this newly-released thriller from Ty Patterson describe it as "Captivating!" "Well-written." and a "Great story!" Don't miss the fast-paced exploits of military contractor Zeb Carter!
The Warrior, by Ty Patterson
Price: $2.99
165 pages, with a 4.4-star rating from 37 reviews
If you enjoy reading thrillers from the likes of Lee Child, Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, James Patterson, David Baldacci, Harlan Coben, and Robert Crais, you will enjoy The Warrior.
When Private Military Contractor Zeb Carter witnesses gruesome crimes in the Congo, he can't just walk away.
Plagued by the scale of the crimes and the helplessness of the victims, he is bent on his own private justice. With Broker by his side, a maverick intelligence analyst, Zeb soon realizes that this time he has come up against an adversary who is utterly ruthless...and perhaps more than a match for him.
What transpires is a fast pace gripping journey that stretches from the Congo to New York, into the world of corrupt politics, influential politicians who want him dead, and government agencies who are against him.
This breakneck paced read is an edge-of-your-seat, exothermic thrill machine, with a plot so full of surprises it will carry your imagination long beyond the final word.
Reviews:
Ty Patterson "The Warrior" is a true page-turners, so exciting and well written. I have read all the greats such as Brad Thor, Lee Child and Vince Flynn thriller series, so feel I know great thriller writer when I read one. I believe Ty Patterson is the next up and coming thriller writer. If you like Brad, Lee and Vince Flynn books your going to love this one! I highly recommend this book! Congrats Ty on hitting your first book out of the park! I cannot wait till the next one!
What a great book! It has been a long time since I have had a book keep me on the edge! I found I couldn't put it down. If you are a Jack Reacher fan then this book is for you. It's good to know there are still authors out there who appeal to the Warrior in all of us! Ty is a great author and I look forward to the sequel!!
A cracking book. I thoroughly enjoyed The Warrior. Much was made of it's genre similarities to the Reacher series and, whilst this is the case to some extent - and you could argue a case for it being a cross of Reacher and Victor the Assassin - the book more than stands on is own two feet.
Excellent: If you are a fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books as I am, do yourself a favor and get a copy of "The Warrior." You won't be disappointed.
Gripping Read: Gripping from the very beginning. Fast paced and will draw you in. A true action and suspense novel! Would love to see a spin off of any of the colorful characters in this book. Broker for one, or see Rory later in life! Loved it, and the opening to The Reluctant Warrior looks to be equally thrilling!
Awesome Thriller: IĆ¢€™m not much on reading thriller books but Patterson drew me in. It is well thought out, constructed, and keeps you intrigued to know what will happen.
Fast paced/Cool lead: I don't normally read thrillers, but I was gifted a copy of The Warrior by Ty Patterson and I like to try new things, so I went for it. Glad I did.
A fast paced thriller: This novel is fast-paced, with a great cast of characters. The action-packed story kept me interested until the very end. I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially those who love action and adventure. Looking forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.
A sharply crafted thriller: I enjoyed how the author delved into the thoughts of his main characters. This book was a brisk read, but packed a wallop of a climax. Regardless of whether or not mystery thrillers are your cup of tea, I think you should check 'The Warrior' out.

Ty discovered reading at an early age and the backs of cereal cartons, and the fine print on shampoo bottles, were frequently part of his reading diet when nothing else was at hand.
His journey to being a writer has included life experiences such as digging trenches by the side of highways for storing water during drought, selling loose tea to street-side tea stalls, working with fishermen, selling exotic leather goods, and living on a couple of continents.

He took to writing at an early age - writing pieces of humor and fiction, some of which are yet to see the light of day and others that got published in journals that are now deader than the T-Rex.
Ty started writing The Warrior on a challenge by his better half and son. The Warrior is now the first in a thriller series - a series that fundamentally is about friendship, loyalty, and invisible things that make a man.
Ty is privileged that his wife and son shape their lives to accommodate his writing. They also humor his ridiculous belief that he is in charge.
In his spare time, Ty plays tennis and badminton, badly. If you need a playing partner whose butt you want to whip, Ty is your man.

Night Tide (Blake Sanders series), by Michael W. Sherer. (Still free?)"A great, great read! NIGHT TIDE is on my (very) short list for 2013 awards. Once again, a crime from the past entangles Sherer's nocturnal hero Blake Sanders in its present-day repercussions, and once again Sherer makes Seattle at night the perfect setting for a thriller full of unexpected twists, darkness (literal and metaphorical) and wonderful, three-dimensional characters. Even better than NIGHT BLIND, and that's not easy." -- Timothy Hallinan, author of Herbie’s Game
Blast from the Past ...
Blake Sanders thought he left his Midwestern past behind when he went to the University of Washington on a basketball scholarship more than 20 years earlier. But Keely Radcliffe drags it back into the present when she shows up on Blake's stoop one morning to ask for his help. Back then, Keely's sister was killed in a lab explosion on a university campus in southern Illinois.
Blake's best friend Perry Langford was arrested and convicted of murder for setting the charge, but Langford always maintained his innocence, claiming someone else blew up the building. Not even Blake knows what really happened, and he was there. This is a secret he's kept all this time. Now Langford is out of prison, and he's gunning for all those he holds responsible for his 20-year stint in jail, including Blake.
A week later, Blake's cop friend Charlie invites him to a backyard barbecue at his folks' house. Masked gunmen burst in on the festivities before the two of them can even open a beer. Charlie and Blake manage to hold off the marauders, but Charlie is wounded and when the smoke clears, Charlie's parents have vanished.
Events begin to snowball, putting Blake on the run from both the shooters and Langford, his childhood friend. Blake realizes they are all related. Soon the FBI and even naval intelligence officer Reyna Chase are on his tail, too. Whoever planted the bomb 20 years ago is cleaning up loose ends, and the prize they're still seeking after all this time - a revolutionary battery design - is worth a fortune, even worth selling out one's own country ... and killing for.

Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark, by Ridley Pearson. (Still free?)"My sister, a Disney fanatic, got this for my 9-year-old son for Christmas. To my amazement, he sat on the couch the next day and read over half of it in one afternoon. When he brought it to the dinner table we had to tell him to set it aside. He has told me so much about the book I feel like I have read it. I'm sure that our recent trip to Walt Disney World last fall adds to the appeal, as the places and rides are fresh in his memory. He has begged me to order the next book in the series, which is what brought me to Amazon today." -- Amazon reviewer
In this fantastical thriller, five young teens tapped as models for theme park "guides" find themselves pitted against Disney villains and witches that threaten both the future of Walt Disney World and the stability of the world outside its walls. Using a cutting-edge technology called DHI--which stands for both Disney Host Interactive and Daylight Hologram Imaging--Finn Whitman, an Orlando teen, and four other kids are transformed into hologram projections that guide guests through the park. The new technology turns out, however, to have unexpected effects that are both thrilling and scary. Soon Finn finds himself transported in his DHI form into the Magic Kingdom at night. Is it real? Is he dreaming? Finn's confusion only increases when he encounters Wayne, an elderly Imagineer who tells him that the park is in grave danger. Led by the scheming witch, Maleficent, a mysterious group of characters called the Overtakers is plotting to destroy Disney's beloved realm, and maybe more. This gripping high-tech tale will thrill every kid who has ever dreamed of sneaking into Walt Disney World after hours and wondered what happens at night, when the park is closed.

The Lesson Plan (Lords of Lancashire), by Jackie Barbosa. (Still 0.99?)"Slightly tamer than Ms. Barbosa's fabulous Grace Under Fire, this novella still sizzles. The scenario was very clever. Kidnapping. Masks. Secret identities and spankings and just a touch of voyeurism. The heroine was fun, the hero was delightfully serious, and the epilogue satisfying. However, what I loved most about this novella was the narrative voice. Strong, funny, and confident, the voice of this piece sucked me in and held my attention all the way through. Pitch and pacing perfect, it's another intimate portrayal of history. I'm a fan!" -- Amazon reviewer
This ebook consists of THE LESSON PLAN, a 22,500 word/64 page novella and excerpts from two related short stories, GRACE UNDER FIRE and TAKING LIBERTIES. THE LESSON PLAN is the first novella in the Lords of Lancashire trilogy. The first chapters of HOT UNDER THE COLLAR, the second Lords of Lancashire novella, is also included at the end of this volume.

Sometimes, love is the hardest lesson of all...
Despite her imminent debut, Miss Winifred Langston has no interest in trying on expensive ball gowns, learning intricate dance steps, or perfecting the one piece she can play on the pianoforte. Freddie would rather don a pair of breeches and go target shooting, fishing, or horseback riding -- astride -- than be anywhere near a ballroom or high tea. Rather than waste the last few days of her freedom on such pursuits, she invites her two closest friends to join her in one final caper.
When Conrad Pearce learns of Freddie's plans, he decides it's past time to teach his younger brother's partner-in-crime a well-deserved lesson. But when he intercepts her, disguised as a highwayman, to demonstrate how dangerous and ill-advised her stunts are, he can't resist the sensual beauty hidden beneath the maddening tomboy's exterior. What began as one sort of lesson becomes quite another, as Conrad embarks on a comprehensive erotic tutorial of his surprisingly enthusiastic and adept student.
Now, he only has to convince the irrepressible Freddie to trade her breeches and madcap ways for the gowns and domesticity she despises.
