"OMG!!! I cannot believe what I just read. This is a sick and twisted story written with such vivid details that I felt like I was a fly on the wall. My heart was racing page after page and I never lost interest. The best part for me was getting to know certain events from the different characters' perspective. I highly recommend this story to everyone who enjoys loosing themselves in a suspense filled thriller!" -- Amazon reviewer

Afterworld: The Orion Rezner Chronicles Book 1, by Michael James Ploof. (Still free?)

"This post apocalyptic book is action packed and chock full of references to 80's and 90's pop culture (both witty and dated) which could have easily backfired. There were some words left out here and there but the quick paced/easy flow made up for whatever editing problems I ran across. The character development and world building were good but nothing groundbreaking though it definitely provided an excellent foundation for what I believe will turn out to be a VERY entertaining series." -- Amazon reviewer

Influenced by the works of Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, and Charlaine Harris. The Orion Rezner Chronicles is a paranormal urban fantasy set in the post-apocalyptic future. With its mix of humor, heart thumping action, and a unique magic system, blended with technology and old world lore, it is sure to please anyone looking for their fantasy fix.

In his first week as a wizard, Orion Rezner faces demons, witches, possessed mothers, and road warriors. Thank god beer survived the Apocalypse.

Seven years have passed since the Culling of 2033 which killed most of the world's population. Vampires, werewolves, and demons have begun to emerge from the shadows, and they are hungry. Boston, one of the last vestiges of humanity, is protected by a spell shield created by the Wizard Council. The shield is the only thing keeping the city safe.

Having studied the Craft for two years at Harvard Witchcraft and Wizardry, Orion Rezner embarks on his final rite of passage. But his first mission outside the city walls forces him to make choices he wasn’t prepared for. Narrowly avoiding possession by an ancient demon, he learns of a plot to destroy the spell shield and expose its survivors to the horrors outside.

Suspected by the wizard council of having been compromised by the encounter, Orion is unable to convince them of the danger. With the help of his closest friends, Orion sets out on a desperate quest to thwart the demon's plan any way he can.

Murder at the High School Reunion (Book 5 Dekker Cozy Mystery Series), by Steve Demaree. (Still free?)

"Deckker and his sidekick always manage to solve their mysteries with humor and skill. The guys have problems with their car, weight and the murder. A pleasure to read and always a good mystery from the author. I like the way the plot locations stretch from the High School it doesn't take place in one building." -- Amazon reviewer

In the fifth book in this series, Lt. Dekker gets an advance warning that he might be investigating a couple of murders when two people turn up missing after a high school reunion. When those bodies do indeed turn up, the lieutenant and his sergeant sidekick go to work. They start by interviewing everyone who attended that high school reunion. In their favor is the fact that not a lot of people attended the reunion, but it doesn’t help them any when they find out that everyone hated one of the victims, but none of them appear guilty of murder.

God Attacks!, by J.R. Kiefer. (Still free?)

"This sweet little novel has it all: Rival mystery orders battling on different planes for the survival of mankind; a James-Bond-esque black-ops leader on a mission to find a savior; evil angels turned body-snatchers; a soupcon or two of blood and gore, psychic romance, the inner secrets of the brotherhood of car dealers; and a goofy, but lovable anti-hero protagonist. Well-drawn characters, well written prose and a fast-paced plot with interesting thematic twists made it worth my time. The subtle (and sometimes overt?) dark humor that overlays the piece make me look forward to Volume Two and the further adventures of Kirt Tucker." -- Amazon reviewer

God is not dead; it has merely slept. It stirs from its enforced slumber and its dreams of annihilating that which created it in its own image, that which drove it mad—a blinded mankind.

Two ancient secret societies guard the secret of God. One of these occult orders wishes to enslave and control the abominable thought form that is God. The other wishes to destroy it and to free humanity from the fetters of beliefs capable of creating such monsters of unholy destruction. Their directive: What Man has created, Man must destroy.

Caught in the midst of these turbulent cosmic forces is the sleeper incarnation of Kirt Tucker, a neurotic, semi-suicidal used-car salesman, and his companions: Roland, the country club golf pro, and Celia, the talented psychic. Join them on a non-stop, page-turning race to stay alive in the face of a psychotic deity and its God-awful minions.

God Attacks! Is the first of two volumes of a tale where the world is turned upside down; where good and evil, and the shades of gray in between, blur in a belief bending thrill-ride of a read.
