The Opposite of Wild (Clover Park, Book 1) (The Clover Park Series), by Kylie Gilmore. (Still free?)

"This book is everything a reader hopes for. Funny. Hot. Sweet." -- New York Times Bestselling Author, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

"I loved this first book in Kylie Gilmore's Clover Park series--it was the first I've read by her, but I was connected to and immersed in her writing immediately." -- The Revolving Bookcase

Each book in the Clover Park Series can be read as a stand-alone novel, or for more fun read them in order. Characters you’ve loved from past books frequently pop up in other books.

Unleash the wild woman…?

Ex-cop Ryan O'Hare takes one look at buttoned-up control freak Liz Garner and just itches to loosen the woman up. Not that he’s into her. Because a woman like that comes with way too many expectations. Not to mention, she practically works for him, and he didn’t hire Liz to watch after his beloved Harley-stealing Gran so he could turn Liz loose in his bed. Still, there’s something about her, a hidden wild side, that makes him wonder what it would take.

Liz must be crazy to work for the insensitive, arrogant, horribly…hot man she's avoided for years. Unfortunately, she needs the money and Ryan's grandmother needs a keeper. (Midnight tango lessons and ziplines with Gran, anyone?) Ryan's rare smile and swaggering confidence have Liz torn between throwing her favorite pinot grigio at his head or throwing herself at him. Can this control freak find a way to let loose with the tough, no-strings guy who once broke her heart?

Peeking Duck (The Case Files of Icarus Investigations Book 2), by Daniel Ganninger. (Still 0.99?)

Save $3 today with this Kindle Countdown deal!

"This was such a refreshing change for the detective genre. The characters were ever so filled with the weaknesses that make the rest of us human. I enjoyed the adventure and the unique nature of the plot. The two main characters are very well developed and have qualities all of us can relate to. I hated to see the book end and look forward to Ganninger's next novel." -- Amazon reviewer

There's trouble on the water, and the Icarus team is on the case to discover why a mysterious piece of cargo is so important, and why everyone wants a piece of it.

With the business faltering and Galveston's love life in shambles, Murphy is determined to get things back on track. Even when it means he has to knock some sense into a lovelorn Galveston. Just as things look bleak, the PI's catch a big break. An insurance investigator named Maddie Jenkins needs their trademark, unique services to find her prized lost cargo that was aboard a merchant container ship traveling from Hong Kong to Los Angeles. It mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and no one knows why.

Murphy and Galveston realize that this could be the payday they had always dreamed about. But did the ship simply have an accident at sea, or did something more sinister happen to it? The detectives cross from one side of the earth to the other as they follow a breadcrumb trail of clues. Their adventure becomes increasingly more complex and dangerous when they discover what this ship was really carrying. Little did they know, they had been drawn into the mysterious case of the Peeking Duck.

Peeking Duck is packed with non-stop action, adventure, fun, and humor - without profanity or graphic adult situations (but still plenty of mayhem) - that will keep you at the edge of your seat. So join the adventure and escape with the private eyes of Icarus Investigations.

EL FUEGOS: (The Fires), by Warren Williams. (Still 2.99?)

"The story line is contemporary in its setting but has an "old west" flavor to it, taking place in the panhandle of Oklahoma and involving a rustic small town sheriff. The plot is innovative and definitely holds one's attention. All of the characters are well described and have excellent dialog, some of which is very funny. I enjoyed the book; it is entertaining and I will be looking for the next adventure of Sheriff Lester. I recommend it to those enjoying mystery/adventure novels." -- Amazon reviewer

When a racist, a munitions expert, and a psychopath take up residence in an old, abandoned monastery just outside of town, local sheriff Lester P. Morrison is naturally suspicious of the strangers. The men, all ex-military, claim to be nothing more than peace-loving survivalists preparing for the next worldwide, cataclysmic event. But when a torrent of arsons sweep across Oklahoma targeting Hispanic businesses, the sheriff begins to wonder if he is standing smack-dab in the middle of ground zero.

Dying to Get Published (The Jennifer Marsh Mysteries Book 1), by Judy Fitzwater. (Still free?)

"Dying to get Published is a lighthearted read and takes a poke at the mystery genre. Jennifer Marsh is a pre-published mystery writer who creates wacky heroines and plots that are woven throughout the book. Judy Fitzwater has accurately described every hopeful writer's feelings. I could totally relate to Jennifer and her wacky cast of friends. She is devoted to her writing and does catering parties to help make ends meet - it is at a party she and her friend Dee Dee are working where she meets Sam, a great dream guy and picks up her first "case." As I said, the plot intricacies might leave a bit to be desired for those looking for a hard core mystery but for me this was a fun read. I like Jennifer, her wonderful dog Muffy and her unborn (and unconceived ) child Jaimie (could be a girl or a boy). As whole - this was a great premise and a fun book." -- Amazon reviewer

Judy Fitzwater's comic mystery tour de force, originally published by Ballantine Books, is finally available in electronic format.

Jennifer Marsh is a mystery writer with a stack of eight unpublished manuscripts and rejection letters to match filling her closet. She's sure that if she can just get famous for something, someone will have to publish her books. Why not murder?

She'll find a target so mean that she'd actually be doing the world a favor by bumping him or her off. And she knows just the person:

Penney Richmond, a high-powered literary agent who's made it her job to ruin people's lives. All Jennifer has to do is frame herself, do the deed, and come out with an iron-clad alibi, and she'll be well on her way to getting a three book deal. So what if she chickens out at the last minute? A vegetarian good girl who rescued a greyhound could never actually kill someone. But when Penney is found murdered and the police think Jennifer did it, she’d better find the real murderer before she goes away... for life.

Along with her eccentric writer's group, spunky old ladies with a nose for sleuthing, her neurotic greyhound, and a sexy, sarcastic reporter named Sam, Jennifer embarks on a journey filled with danger, deception, and disguises that could leave her Dying to Get Published...
